New project website now live: Developing countries navigating global banking standards

GEG's three-year project on how developing countries navigate global banking standards has recently launched a site dedicated to its research findings. The project brought together a team of researchers with expertise in political economy of banking regulation in eleven countries on three continents, and is funded by the UK's Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and Department for International Development (DFID).

Led by Professors Emily Jones and Ngaire Woods (Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford), and Professor Thorsten Beck (Cass Business School, University of London), the site presents the results of this research, examining the politics of banking regulations in developing countries, with a focus on Low and Lower-Middle Income Countries (LMICs).

A summary of the project, its key findings, and policy implications are available, along with case studies from each of the LMICs. Data and publications from the project will be made available in due course.
