On 7-8 May 2015, new and previous fellows of the Oxford-Princeton Global Leaders Fellowship Programme (GLF) were welcomed to Oxford for the 7th Annual Colloquium to exchange ideas and discuss current research.

The programme, a post-doctoral fellowship for exceptional researchers from non-OECD countries working on issues of global governance and the role of developing countries in the world political economy, welcomed four new fellows for 2015-2017: Dr Nghia Pham (Vietnam), Dr Peace Medie (Ghana), Dr Seydou Ouedraogo (Burkina Faso), and Dr Kako Nubukpo (Togo). The GLF fellows will spend a year each at the University of Oxford and Princeton University during their fellowships.

Following opening remarks from GEG Director Professor Ngaire Woods and Professor Robert Keohane, current GLF fellows presented their research for discussion, covering issues including foreign aid and state-building, industrial development in China and Vietnam, changes in the international monetary system, and patterns of smallholder agriculture in West Africa.

Fellows who recently graduated from the programme shared their experiences of the programme and their developing careers, and provided insights to help guide the current cohort. GLF graduates presented a number of innovative strategies for how GLFs can combine academic excellence with policy impact.

The GLF programme accepts applications September-November annually.
