The Dutch Visitors Programme (DVP), run by the Dutch Government's Ministry of Foreigh Affairs, focuses on ‘Democracy, Rule of Law and Human Rights’. This 10-day programme aims to contribute to a better understanding of the Netherlands through the exchange of professional and personal experiences between participants and their Dutch colleagues.

The DVP is specially designed for people with high potential from emerging countries. In each programme a small group of people from different countries can participate. Participants are young, talented, entrepreneurial and internationally oriented with backgrounds in government, politics, business, media, education or science, or in a field or discipline relevant to the Netherlands.

This year seven people were selected, coming from: Brazil, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, Nigeria, Kazakhstan and Vietnam. Within the group are people working in government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MFA in Vietnam and Kazakhstan), the NGO sector (Turkey, Russia) and academia. Participants will visit public institutions in Netherlands (Parliament, MFA, Prison, etc.)  and IOs. GLF Camila Villard Duran is one of the participants of this year’s DVP cohort, and has scheduled additional meetings at the International Court of Justice (The Hague), the Netherlands Central Bank, the Panel of Recognized International Market Experts in Finance (PRIME Finance), the University of Groningen and the University of Amsterdam. She hopes to build relationships with these institutions and bring relevant contacts and projects especially - but not only - to Brazilian academia.
